The moment takes you. You don't take the moment. (D800 Infrared)

I was thought by a crazed old photographer who lives in NYC to always carry a camera and that light, gesture and color are the key components to any photograph. It is gesture that is most important,  So here I am with my D800 modified for IR shooting up at buildings in central park. I am walking cluelessly oblivious sorta like a dog chasing a slow butterfly, when I wander into the roller blade lane and almost become a hood ornament for a helmet.  As jump out what would most certainly be a fatal accident with spandex back on to the side walk I see this mother and child. With a camera completely not set for shooting in the dark this image took me. It is the jesture of unconditional joy and love that made me smile all the time it took to create this image from the raw file.

The image was captured by a Nikon D-800,  camera modified for infrared. Super Enhanced color conversion done by LifePixel with a 24-120 mm Nano coated VR II lens at 400iso using the Nikon electronic file format (.Nef) Shot on Lexar 32 gigabyte 1000 speed UDMA Flash media. file was post processed using capture NX 2.0 software, Nik Color Efex 4.0 and Silver Efex Pro 2.0.
